A: Please use the ‘Contact Us’ page on the website or telephone us on 01932 860 380 and we will speak to you to discuss your requirements and help you decide which pieces you would like to buy. We will then send you a completed order form to check and a mould kit all with a S.A.E. to make return easy.
A: Within 24 hours of receiving your request we will post a small kit for each fingerprint to be taken twice, including our simple 3 step instructions with colour photographs, by first class post. The kit has been designed to make the process very simple but if you have any questions at all please feel free to telephone us. We will include a S.A.E. for you to return the moulds to us and upon receipt of these your finished piece of jewellery will be sent to you by Special Delivery within 2 weeks. We will also email you when we receive your moulds back so you know they have arrived. Occasionally during particularly busy periods e.g. Father’s day, Mother’s day and Christmas these time frames may change but I will keep you advised.
A: Legally any piece of silver weighing more than 7.78 grams needs to be submitted to The Assay Office for Hallmarking. All Signature-Prints pieces are within this limit and are therefore not Hallmarked. Hallmarking is not a service we currently offer as there is no legal requirement to do so for the size of our pieces and it also increases the cost and time taken to make each item.
Q: How do I take the fingerprints?
A: If you are local to us (Cobham, Surrey) we can take the fingerprints for you either at our studio or at your home. If you are further afield or are very busy we will post you a kit including our ‘magic compound’ and simple 3 step instructions with colour photos for you to take the prints in the comfort of your own home. If you have any questions during the process we can always be reached on the phone or by email. We will send you enough compound to take 2 moulds for each person and in the very rare event that neither are quite good enough for me to use I will phone you and send you some more – so no worries!
Q: My baby/NCT group are all interested in fingerprint jewellwey. Could you come to us to show us the jewellery and can take the fingerprints?
A: Yes, if you are within a reasonable distance of us and have 5 or more friends who wish to order something we will be very happy to come to you to show you the jewellery where you can try it on and select which you would like. WeI will also take all the fingerprints of the children present for you and show you how to take them for any that may be at school etc. Please note that the hostess will also receive a discount on all items ordered on the day.
A: A hostess discount is available if you have a group of 5 or more friends who are interested in ordering a piece. You provide the coffee and we will bring the jewellery to make it a fun and informal event! Please contact us for more details!
A: Yes, the date of birth, age or month and year of when the piece is made can be hand inscribed on the back of pendants, charms, cufflinks, key rings and book marks. On the larger pieces it may be possible to have a short message.
A: By their very nature, all our fingerprints are unique and some people, no matter what their age, have fainter fingerprints than others. For babies it is usually best to wait until they are 6 months old so that you can see some of the ridges that are forming in your piece of jewellery. Even if there is little definition, the ‘dimple’ imprint of one so young and small is something you will treasure and be able to compare to when they are older. There is definitely no upper age limit!
A: The clay starts to dry out as soon as it is out of its packet and as we take 2 moulds of each fingerprint we will use the best one. This means that we can take as much time as necessary to ensure you get the best possible imprint in your jewellery and can remake it as many times as necessary for it to be as perfect as possible without drying out and cracking the silver.
A: All pieces will be presented in a beautiful presentation box in your choice of punk pink or black with contrasting hand tied ribbons. We are very proud that our boxes are made from recycled card with a black velvet pad to show off your silver jewellery at its best. Cuff links are presented in a very smart cufflink box with black interior.
A: We are all human and occasionally an important birthday or anniversary creeps up on you leaving very little time! In this case please telephone us with details of when you need your piece and we will always do our best to accommodate you. If the time frame is unfortunately too tight you could always give a Signature-Prints Gift Voucher.
