Care and Maintenance of your Signature-Prints Jewellery
 
We want your Signature-Prints jewellery to stay beautiful.  Fine silver is slightly softer than sterling silver and just like those on your hands, the fingerprint is delicate so please treat your jewellery with special care and attention and follow the instructions below (specific additional care instructions for charms, cufflinks, necklaces and keyrings are given at the bottom) :

 

  • Remove jewellery before showering or swimming.

 

  • Remove before exercising.

 

  • Remove jewellery before sleeping.

 

  • Remove before undertaking cleaning particularly when using chemicals.

 

  • Remove bracelets when cooking.

 

  • Regularly check any loops holding your charms, pendant, keyring etc to ensure they stay secure.

 

  • Regularly check cufflinks backs to ensure they are secure.

 

  • Polish with a soft dry cloth.

 

  • Do not use silver cleaning liquid or silver polishing cloth as this may remove some of the         

              black definition in the fingerprint and name.    

 

  • Should more cleaning be required then gently wash in warm water and dry with a soft cloth or cleaning

              cloths can be purchased for a small cost.

 

  • If unworn for a while fine silver will tarnish just like other pieces of silver - don't panic! - the tarnish can 

              easily be removed by gently cleaning with a tiny amount of silver polish but please avoid the fingerprint

              or you may remove its definition.  Alternatively, we will always be pleased to see your piece again if you 

              would like us to clean it for you! 

 
 
Charms - Charms can see particularly high levels of wear and tear.  Therefore please treat with particular TLC and space out around your bracelet, do not sit next to other charms as daily 'rubbing' against other pieces may wear away the fingerprint.  Please also avoid wearing the bracelet carrying your fingeprint charms with other bracelets at the same time as this will increase levels of wear and tear and may lead to the fingerprint wearing away.  Please remove before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, cleaning particularly when using chemicals and cooking.
 
Cufflinks - Please reguarly check fixings to ensure they are secure.  Any loose fixed back 'legs' ccan be gently squeezed back together with plyers.
 
Necklaces - Please regularly check loops attaching your pendants.  If they become loose they can easily be made more secure by your local jeweller who shouldn't even charge you for this one minute job!
 
Keyrings - The attaching loops will have been carefully soldered but nevertheless please check regularly to prevent against loss.
